Welcome to Kilimanjaro!
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, a Tobiko Africa Adventure representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha. Meet your mountain guide for a detailed climb briefing and gear check.

Your adventure begins with a drive to Londorossi Gate for registration. The trail winds through dense rainforest rich in wildlife — keep an eye out for blue monkeys and exotic birds. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp.

Today’s trek climbs steadily to the Shira Plateau — an ancient caldera offering expansive views of Kilimanjaro’s upper slopes. Continue to Shira II Camp, surrounded by giant groundsels and stunning landscapes.

This is your key acclimatization day. Ascend to the towering Lava Tower for lunch, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy boosts your body’s adjustment to altitude.

Habitat: Arctic summit zone → Moorland
Summit Day! Begin your ascent in the dark, reaching Stella Point at sunrise, then push to Uhuru Peak — the highest point in Africa. After celebrating and soaking in the views, descend back to Mweka Camp for your final overnight.
