Your adventure begins with a morning drive from Arusha to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. After registration and safety briefing, start your scenic trek through open grasslands and montane forest — home to giraffes, buffalo, bushbuck, and colorful birdlife. Cross the Ngare Nanyuki River and ascend to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) for dinner and overnight.
Elevation Gain: 1,029m | Hiking Time: 3–5 hours (+2 hrs to Little Meru)
Climb steeply through enchanted forest to Elephant Ridge, where panoramic views of the crater wall and Ash Cone unfold. Arrive at Saddle Hut (3,570m) in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you can opt for an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,794m) for sunset views. Overnight at Saddle Hut.
Hiking Time: 10–12 hours round trip
Start your summit push between 1:00–2:00 am, ascending via Rhino Point along a narrow crater ridge to reach Socialist Peak (4,566m) at sunrise. On clear mornings, Kilimanjaro glows in the distance — a breathtaking reward. After summit celebrations, descend back through Saddle Hut for rest, then continue to Miriakamba Hut for your final overnight.
Descent Time: 2–4 hours
After breakfast, descend via a different trail with more wildlife sightings and crater views. At Momella Gate, receive your certificate and bid farewell to your trekking team before returning to Arusha.
