Booking Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book a safari, Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar holiday with Tobiko Adventures.

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Please read these terms carefully. By paying a deposit you confirm that you (and everyone in your group) accept them.

1. Making a booking

Your booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and sent you a written booking confirmation. The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for all members of the group.

2. Prices

Our quotes are in US dollars and include the services listed in your itinerary. Prices are based on park fees, taxes, fuel costs and exchange rates at the time of quoting. If the Tanzanian authorities change park, concession or government fees after you book, we may need to pass on the difference; we will always show you the official change.

3. Payment

  • A deposit of 30% of the total trip cost is required to confirm your booking.
  • The balance is due 60 days before your arrival date. Bookings made within 60 days of arrival require full payment.
  • Payments can be made by bank transfer or secure card payment link. Bank and card fees are the responsibility of the payer.
  • If the balance is not received on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges.

4. Changes by you

We will do our best to accommodate changes to dates, accommodation or itinerary, subject to availability. Any extra costs charged by suppliers will be passed on.

5. Changes or cancellation by us

Safaris and climbs take place in wild environments. Occasionally we may need to change an itinerary due to weather, road or park conditions, safety concerns or supplier issues. We will always provide an alternative of similar standard. If we must cancel your trip for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of money paid.

6. Travel documents & health

You are responsible for valid passports, visas, vaccination certificates and meeting the entry requirements of Tanzania and Zanzibar. You must inform us of any medical condition, disability or dietary need that may affect your trip.

7. Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, emergency evacuation, cancellation and – for Kilimanjaro – high-altitude trekking is a condition of booking.

8. Kilimanjaro climbs

Your lead guide has full authority to decide whether it is safe for a climber to continue. If you descend early for health or safety reasons, extra costs (e.g. additional hotel nights or transport) are payable by you; no refund is given for unused days on the mountain.

9. Behaviour & park rules

You agree to follow your guide’s instructions, national park regulations and local laws, and to respect wildlife, communities and the environment.

10. Liability

We take great care in selecting suppliers, but we are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including natural disasters, epidemics, political unrest, strikes or flight disruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Complaints

If something is not right during your trip, please tell your guide or contact us immediately so we can fix it on the spot. Any complaint after the trip should be sent in writing within 30 days of your return.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
