A compact, fully private safari to Tarangire and the Ngorongoro Crater – ideal before or after a Kilimanjaro climb or Zanzibar.
Short on time? This 3-day private safari focuses on two of Tanzania’s most rewarding parks, both within easy reach of Arusha, so you spend your time watching wildlife – not sitting in the car.
Day one is all about Tarangire’s elephants and baobabs, day two takes you to the scenic Ngorongoro highlands and Lake Manyara, and day three is a morning on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater – one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five.
Drive about two hours west to Tarangire, famous for its huge elephant herds and giant baobab trees. Spend the day on game drives along the Tarangire River, where buffalo, giraffe, zebra and big cats come to drink, with a picnic lunch in the park.
Overnight: lodge or tented camp near Tarangire / Karatu (full board)
Game drive through Lake Manyara’s groundwater forest and along the alkaline lake shore – look for baboon troops, flamingos, hippos and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
Overnight: Karatu lodge (full board)
Descend 600 m to the crater floor for a game drive among lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and – if you are lucky – the rare black rhino. Picnic lunch by the hippo pool, then drive back to Arusha for your onward flight or hotel.
