Five days of big-game safari followed by four barefoot days on Zanzibar’s white-sand beaches.
The perfect Tanzania combination. Start with Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, then fly straight from Arusha to Zanzibar to recover on the beach with turquoise water and fresh seafood.
We can arrange a Stone Town walking tour, spice farm visit or Safari Blue sailing day during your beach stay.
Your Tobiko driver meets you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha and transfers you to your hotel. Your guide stops by for a short trip briefing – then the rest of the day is yours to relax after the flight.
Overnight: Arusha hotel (B&B)
Drive about two hours west to Tarangire, famous for its huge elephant herds and giant baobab trees. Spend the day on game drives along the Tarangire River, where buffalo, giraffe, zebra and big cats come to drink, with a picnic lunch in the park.
Overnight: lodge or tented camp near Tarangire / Karatu (full board)
Climb the forested rim of the Ngorongoro highlands, stop at the crater viewpoint and descend to the open Serengeti plains. Game drive en route to your camp in the central Seronera Valley – lion and leopard country.
Overnight: Serengeti camp (full board)
A full day exploring the Serengeti at your own pace. Start early when predators are most active, follow the herds, and enjoy a picnic lunch under an acacia tree. Your guide adapts the route to the latest sightings and the Great Migration’s position.
Overnight: Serengeti camp (full board)
Final morning game drive in the Serengeti, then drive back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing Maasai settlements and Olduvai Gorge along the way.
Overnight: lodge on the crater rim or in Karatu (full board)
Morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, then transfer to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar. Transfer to your beach hotel.
Overnight: Zanzibar beach hotel
Days at leisure on the beach – swim, snorkel, try a dhow sunset cruise or take an optional Stone Town and spice farm tour.
Another free day to relax. Ask us about Mnemba Atoll snorkelling or the Safari Blue sailing trip.
Transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight home. Kwaheri – until next time!
